Fantasy Football 2012 Rankings: Seattle Seahawks Running Back Marshawn Lynch

After an impressive start to his career that consisted of 2,151 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns over his first two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch was in a bit of a slump from 2009-10 as he only recorded 1,187 yards and eight touchdowns. Now, Lynch heads into the fantasy football 2012 season as one of the top 10 running backs as he looks to build off an impressive 2011 campaign.

Lynch ended up being one of the biggest surprises for fantasy owners in 2011 after finishing with 1,204 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns?both career highs. Most owners snagged Lynch up in the later rounds of their drafts to use as a No. 3 running back on their roster, but he ended up being the starting running back on most squads by the end of the season?leading many owners to their championship.

While Lynch would have most likely been a second-round pick in most leagues, a recent DUI charge may end up hurting his fantasy stock for the beginning of the 2012 season. Unfortunately for Lynch, this isn?t the first time he?s been involved with the wrong side of the law?which means he?ll most be suspended for a few games at the beginning of the season.

Obviously with this in mind, nobody is going to want to waste a high draft pick on Lynch if he?s not going to be able to play at the beginning of the regular season. Thanks to his recent arrest, Lynch will most likely be taken in the second or third round at the highest?which has to be frustrating for fantasy owners.
