Worker's mom wants to attend performance meeting ? Business ...

Q. The mother of a minor employee (age 16) has asked to attend her child?s performance evaluation meeting. Do I have to legally allow the parent to sit in on this session? ? S.J., Massachusetts

A. No. There are no laws requiring an employer to allow a minor employee?s parent to attend a work-related meeting with the minor. You have a right to say no, as the employment relationship is between the employee and the employer.
