Study: Popular kids in high school earn more as adults ? Business ...

Popularity pays in the form of a fatter paycheck, according to a new study by the National Bureau of Economic Research. The 50-year study of Wisconsin residents says people in the top one-fifth of popularity during their high school years garner a 10% wage premium compared to those in the bottom fifth.

Reasoning: Popular teens have simply figured out earlier how to play the social-skills game that will help them succeed in the workplace.
